This interactive, four-part virtual training series is based on the Credit as an Asset framework developed by Credit Builders Alliance. Join us to learn how to use credit scores and credit reports as strategic tools to advance client goals and improve client access to affordable financial products. Gain a deeper understanding of how to assist clients in achieving their goals by building positive credit histories through an integrated coaching approach.
This training series was created for Financial Coaches like you who have not received this training within the last two years.

Registration is open for our last 2024 in-person financial coaching training opportunity! LISC’s Financial Coaching training engages participants in powerful discussions on financial coaching methods and best practices. The training is based on an experiential learning model that puts coaching as the primary focus, using the financial tools as a way of developing the coaching technique.
The training is comprised of two parts conducted over a total of four days. All four days are required as part of the training. This training is FREE to all FOC staff. Attendees are responsible for travel costs including flights, hotels and any meals not covered as part of the training. Space is limited. Click below to learn more and register!
This webinar provides a review of the FFT™ Performance Report to better understand common report elements, critical FOC outcomes per counseling area, and where to look for trouble. This webinar is intended for users who manage the FOC program and coaches who would like to use the report as a tool to manage client engagement.

Bridges to Career Opportunities Evaluation - Practitioners event

LISC’s Bridges to Career Opportunities program has been in place for over five years. Through an award to LISC from AmeriCorps (formerly the Corporation for National & Community Service or CNCS), Abt Associates conducted an implementation and an impact study of the Bridges program and recently released the results which show that Bridges programming improves employment outcomes of participants.
This event is the second in our series on evaluation and follows an overview of the evaluation results (the recording of the first session can be found here). Now, this second event will focus on the practitioner's viewpoint of the results and will include a short overview of the evaluation, followed by a panel discussion. The event is intended for practitioners, workforce development partners, policy-makers, and funders.

Expanded Unemployment Assistance: What FOCs & Coaches Need to Know

The federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, signed into law in late March, included provisions that significantly expanded eligibility for Unemployment Assistance (including to certain self-employed and “gig” workers) and added an additional temporary federal benefit to the standard weekly state benefit amount. Since that time, state unemployment agencies have seen an unprecedented volume of applications for assistance and have worked to update their systems to incorporate the new eligibility—while service providers and advocates have sought to quickly understand the CARES Act provisions and how they will be implemented at the state/local level. This session will provide an overview on expanded unemployment, with a focus on important information for FOC staff helping community members assess eligibility and navigate the claims process.
